Weatherization

Homes for Good administers a Weatherization Program designed to assist income-qualified Lane County residents reduce energy use in their homes and reduce their utility bills. The program serves both homeowners and renters.

The program may provide some or all of the following free services, depending on calculations for cost-effectiveness. A weatherization audit and analysis of the qualified residence would be completed in order to determine which measures might be taken.

  • Insulate attics, walls and floors.
  • Seal air leaks.
  • Improve attic and under-floor ventilation.
  • Install carbon monoxide and smoke alarms.
  • Seal and insulate heating ducts.
  • Service heating equipment.
  • Perform minor health and safety repairs.
  • Window replacements for single-pane windows.
  • Install an energy efficient appliances like refrigerators.
  • Install energy efficient lighting LEDs.

“Healthy Homes” Program

Oregon Health Authority’s Healthy Homes Program promotes safe and long-lasting homes by offering support toward repairing and rehabilitating low-income housing. This program aims to improve the health and safety of residences, maximize energy efficiency and extend the usable life of both rented and owned residences across Oregon.

Working in tandem with Homes for Good’s existing Weatherization program, the Healthy Homes program can provide some or all of the following services:

  • Accessibility Modifications
  • Asthmas and Allergen Trigger Removal
  • Electrical Upgrades
  • Home Hazard Assessments
  • Integrated Pest Management
  • Lead Abatement
  • Mold and Mildew Abatement
  • Radon Abatement
  • Reducing Heat
  • Safety Enhancements
  • Smoke Filtration and Air Purification
  • Structural and Safety Improvements
  • Structural Repairs
  • Ventilation Improvement and Air Infiltration Reduction
  • Window and Door Replacement
